International Baccalaureate (IB) Scholar Award

The University of Dallas recognizes exceptional academic performance for those students who have earned their International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma. The academic standards of the IB curricula prepare future UD students for the intellectual rigor they will encounter throughout their years at the University. By recognizing the value of the IB diploma, the University of Dallas is sure to be enriched by those students who have demonstrated discipline and intellectual curiosity.

In order to be eligible for the IB Scholar Award, students must be non-US citizens entering the University of Dallas as incoming freshmen.

Requirements:

• • Scholarship applicants must apply and be admitted to the University of Dallas as full time, degree seeking students.
  • Submit a one page cover letter of intent requesting consideration for the IB Scholar Award, detailing what you have learned through your IB experience and what you hope to bring to the University of Dallas.
  • Provide proof of citizenship outside the United States.
  • Provide official IB diploma and scores.*

Deadlines:

• • December 1st: One page cover letter and proof of citizenship outside the United States.
  • July 1st: Official IB diploma and scores.*

Score ranges and awards**:

24 to 29: $3,000 per academic year ($1,500 per semester)
30 to 36: $5,000 per academic year ($2,500 per semester)
37 to 39: $8,000 per academic year ($4,000 per semester)
40 and up: $10,000 per academic year ($5,000 per semester)

The IB Scholar Award can be used in addition to any Academic Achievement Award a student may receive upon admission to University of Dallas, up to full tuition.

*Copies of original documents will only be accepted if certified as an authentic duplicate by the IB Academic Director of your high school. An official seal and signature must be on the duplicate copy. All documents submitted to the University of Dallas will not be returned to the student.

**All awards will need to be verified by the Office of Undergraduate Admission before scholarships are granted.

IB course credit:

IB diploma students can receive up to 30 college credit hours with IB scores of 5, 6 or 7 on the IB higher level exams in transferable subjects. No more than six English credits will be awarded. The scores will be evaluated by and are in the sole discretion of the Academic Dean of the University of Dallas.
