Why I love UD/Why I Recruit for UD: I have worked at UD for three years and have truly grown to love the unique community that is UD. The students, faculty and staff alike engage in a familial atmosphere that seems to instantly welcome even the newest member. Since becoming a part of the UD family, I have witnessed as well as experienced a strong sense of devotion to the school, the Core curriculum and the Catholic faith. Once on campus, it is evident that UD is a distinctive environment which welcomes and encourages self discovery. There are many reasons why I love UD, but above all it is the opportunity to work with the students each day.
Favorite Spot on Campus: Cap Bar patio
Where Do You Hang Out in Dallas? Katy Trail, the Farmer's Market, Bordeaux Village and every Target within a 20 mile
Favorite Book: Mama Day by Gloria Naylor
Favorite Place to Eat in DFW: I really enjoy trying out new restaurants, and living in Dallas provides me with opportunities on a weekly (if not daily!) basis. My neighborhood favorite is Celebration Restaurant for their family style dinners, the atmosphere and brunch at Hattie's is heavenly but nothing beats Cane Rosso for a truly authentic Neapolitan pizza!
Favorite UD Event: Music on the Mall
Favorite/Coolest Place I have Visited: Hands down, Shoal Bay Beach on Anguilla
Advice to Prospective Students: Be sure to take advantage of campus visit programs, especially those that offer overnight stays. Remember, you are selecting your home for the next four years of your life so it is important that you find the right place. The campus community and student life can appear different in person when compared to pictures in a brochure. Walking across campus, speaking with current students and faculty, eating in the dining hall and even staying overnight in the dorms are excellent ways to determine if you feel at home in that particular environment.
