Open House Programs

UD invites prospective students and their families to visit our campus at any time. One of the best times to visit is during an Open House Program. We offer Aspiring Scholars Preview for high school juniors, Odyssey Days for high school seniors and Meet Us @ the Tower for admitted high school seniors.

Our Open House Programs provide a structured and informative agenda of activities for you and your parents - covering everything from academics to financial aid and community to student life.

Persons with disabilities needing special assistance to attend should call (972) 721-5000 and ask for the ADA Coordinator. The request must be made at least three business days prior to the visit. The university will provide reasonable accommodation to those requesting assistance.

Aspiring Scholars Preview:

The February and June Aspiring Scholars Preview programs present a great opportunity for high school students in their junior year to get a jump-start on the college search process. During the visit, you will have the opportunity to attend classes and information sessions, take a tour of campus, experience UD’s spiritual life, eat in Haggar Café, stay overnight in a residence hall and take the Aspiring Scholars Award Program (ASAP) exam. Benefits of taking the ASAP Exam include: getting a “first look” into UD’s Core curriculum, receiving application fee, essay and teacher recommendation waivers and competing for up to $8000 in scholarship money.  Parents are welcome to attend all events with the exception of the overnight stay and ASAP exam.  During those events, alternative programs will be offered for parents and other guests.

Upcoming Dates: June 3-4, 2013

*Registration is now open!  Click here to register for June Aspiring Scholars Preview.

Odyssey Days:

High school students in the fall of their senior year may attend our Odyssey Days programs in October and November. Odyssey Days gives seniors the opportunity to experience the life of a UD student. Immerse yourself in the UD community by sitting in on classes, meeting with UD faculty, staff and students, eating in Haggar Café, experiencing campus and spiritual life and staying overnight in a residence hall. Plus, take a student-led tour of campus, talk with your admission counselor about the admission process, scholarships and financial aid, ask the tough questions at a student-only panel and compete for a Departmental Scholarship.  Parents are welcome to attend all events with the exception of the overnight stay and student-only panel.  During those events, alternative programs will be offered for parents and other guests.

Attend an Odyssey Days program and apply within two weeks for an Application Fee Waiver!

Upcoming Dates: October 25-26, 2013 and November 22-23, 2013

*Registration will open late Summer 2013.

Meet Us @ the Tower:

Meet Us @ the Tower, a phrase commonly used by UD students when meeting up with friends, provides admitted high school seniors a final opportunity to experience life as a UD student prior to the May 1st National Candidate Reply Deadline. During this event, you will hear about UD traditions and the Rome Program, experience campus and spiritual life, learn about various academic departments, sports and clubs, tour and dine in Downtown Dallas and interact with other high school seniors who are making the same decisions as you. We'll also help you sort through all the things that are on your mind: financial aid, on-campus housing and the value of a UD education.  Parents are welcome to attend all events with the exception of dinner in Downtown Dallas, the overnight stay and student panel.  During those events, alternative programs will be offered for parents and other guests.

Upcoming Dates: March 21-22, 2014 and April 11-12, 2014

*Registration will open late Fall 2013.
