UD Drama Professor Directs Musical Based on 'Iliad,' 'Odyssey' for Lyric Stage

In March 2014, Assistant Professor of Drama Stefan Novinski, BA '92, got a call from Dallas County's Lyric Stage founding producer, Steven Jones, to ask whether Novinski would be interested in directing a production of the musical "The Golden Apple," which will run at the Irving Arts Center Oct. 24 through Nov. 2.

UD Named to ACTA's ‘A’ List for Preparing Graduates

UD is among 23 colleges and universities nationwide and the only one in North Texas to earn an "A" rating from the American Council of Trustees and Alumni (ACTA) in its sixth edition of "What Will They Learn?" The study, which graded 1,098 institutions with an "A" through "F" on the strength of each school's general education curriculum, aimed to identify those that best prepare undergraduates for the workforce.

Patrick Hughes, BA '18, isn't a typical college freshman. Rather than matriculating directly out of high school like the majority of UD's undergraduates, Hughes has a wealth of life experience under his belt, from the Marines to the Fort Worth Police Department. Additionally, he does something a bit unusual in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex: he raises wolves.

The Department of History invites members of the university community to attend the lecture, "The Ukranian Crisis: Prelude to WW4?" given by Andrei Illarionov, senior fellow at the Cato Institute's Center for Global Liberty and Prosperity. From 2000 to December 2005, Illarionov was the chief economic adviser of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
