Graduates: Applying for Financial Aid

To be eligible for federal financial aid, you must be either a US citizen or permanent resident.  You cannot be in default on any student loans or have borrowed the aggregate (lifetime) maximum in the federal student loan program ($138,500 between subsidized and unsubsidized loans, including both undergraduate- and graduate-level loans).  

Please wait until you have been admitted to the University of Dallas to submit your financial aid documentation.  You cannot be awarded until you are admitted to a degree-seeking program.  University of Dallas does not require the CSS Profile. 

Per federal regulations, the Federal Direct Subsidized loan can no longer be issued to graduate students after July 1st, 2012.

• Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) at www.fafsa.gov.

You must complete the FAFSA each year that you wish to apply for aid. The FAFSA requires information from the previous year's taxes, and we realize you may not have your taxes completed by January 1st when the form becomes available. You may use estimated tax information, and once you have completed your taxes make any corrections online.

The school code for UD is 003651.

For College of Business students, the new academic year begins with the summer term. For example, if you are beginning class in the Summer 2014 term, you will need to complete the 2014/15 FAFSA. Braniff and School of Ministry students begin their academic year in the fall term, so for Summer 2014, you would complete the 2013/14 FAFSA still. For Fall 2014 financial aid, however, complete the 2014/15 FAFSA.

• Complete the Graduate Financial Aid Form.

The FAFSA and Graduate Financial Aid Form should always correspond to the same aid year (ex. 2014/15 FAFSA and the 2014/15 Graduate Financial Aid Form). This form can also be found in Documents and Forms.

• We will review all submitted information.

New College of Business graduate students will receive an award notification through email. New Braniff Liberal Arts and School of Ministry students will receive an award notification in the mail.  

Returning graduate students will receive an award notification through email beginning March 1st.

All students will view, accept, and/or decline financial aid on BannerWeb. Direct link to BannerWeb: https://bannerweb.udallas.edu/.

• Accepting the Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan

If you accept your Federal Direct Loan and you are a new borrower at UD, you will be required to complete a Federal Direct Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Direct Loan Entrance Counseling at StudentLoans.gov. Failure to do so will keep your loan from disbursing to your account, and ultimately in the cancellation of your loan.
