The Catholic University for Independent Thinkers
The University of Dallas, as a private university, has tuition expenses that would prevent all but those rare, practically non-existent, wealthy graduate students from attending it. Therefore, in order to bring our costs into the range of public universities, we regularly offer all accepted Ph.D. students a full tuition scholarship. Master's students must fill out a FAFFSA to determine scholarship. We have relatively few fees to add to students' expenses, and, accordingly, we hope that we offer programs that are affordable. The present rate of tuition per credit hour is $760 per three-hour course.
In addition, students who are enrolled in a Ph.D. program that has two foreign language requirements will receive a full tuition scholarship for 18 hours of elementary and intermediate language courses. Students who are enrolled in a Master's program that has a foreign language requirement will receive a full tuition scholarship for 9 hours of elementary and intermediate language courses. We do this in order to encourage students to reach the level of competence that will enable them to meet the graduate requirement. We do it also in the hope that they will continue their language study and use reading courses in foreign languages to understand texts in a way that is not possible in translation.
