Business Faculty Receive Quality Matters Certification for Online Course Design

Angela Moore has been an archer for two years now. It was always something she wanted to try (which, she emphasizes, was the case prior to "The Hunger Games"), but after moving to Austin from Dallas, there were more opportunities. Only half an hour from her home in Austin, she found a branch of Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD), the nationwide program sponsored by USA Archery (the Olympic team).

DFW Airport DART Station Opens; UD 5 Stops Down

At about 4 o'clock Monday morning, the first DART Orange Line train rolled into DFW Airport Station, only five stops down from UD's own light rail station. Just in time for the fall semester, the campus now has direct access via public transportation to the DFW International Airport, only a 25-minute ride away.

Matthew Crews' mother started taking classes from UD's School of Ministry his sophomore year of high school, so when it came time for Crews to look at colleges, she suggested UD. Crews plans to major in pastoral ministry, a relatively new major at UD (it was first offered starting in 2011). While his mother is no longer taking courses from the School of Ministry, now his father is.

Theologian Theodore Whapham Named New School of Ministry Dean

UD has named Theodore Whapham the new dean of the School of Ministry. Whapham, a theologian specializing in Christology and Trinitarian theology, will oversee the university's undergraduate and graduate ministry programs, adult education courses and the University of Dallas Ministry Conference, the nation's second largest Catholic ministry conference.

Ethan Fuller spent his junior year of high school in Alaska and his senior year in Germany. His father is an Air Force pilot, so moving has been a regular part of Fuller's life. Fuller's mother found UD in a catalog of top Catholic colleges, and Fuller was intrigued both by the fact that UD professors tend to use the Socratic method in teaching and by the location: Texas, his father's home state.

Princeton Review Names UD to Best Colleges List

The University of Dallas was again named one of the nation's best colleges in the 2014 edition of The Princeton Review's "The Best 379 Colleges." The university's Rome Program was also recognized as being the eighth most popular study abroad program. In its profile of UD, The Princeton Review praises the university's rigorous core curriculum and interesting, accessible professors.
