A Campus Safety Officer observed a maintenance cart being driven through the woods. When the officer attempted to make contact the operator of the cart abandoned the vehicle and fled into the wooded area behind the maintenance building. Upon investigation the officer found the lock and chain to the maintenance yard rear gate had been cut.
