FL14 Final Mass & Convocation

The Fall 2014 Rome class, nicknamed the "Crescendo Class" by Dr. Hatlie, said goodbye to Rome on December 7 with a final mass and convocation on campus. The students ended the night with fireworks, carolling and one last bonfire.

Fall 2014 Galleria Borghese & Final Dinner in Rome

The last site visit of the semester was the Galleria Borghese, which houses works by Caravaggio, Titian and Bernini. Following the visit, the final Mass in Rome was celebrated in the Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterno. In the evening, the students enjoyed a final group dinner in Rome near the Colosseum.

Fall 2014 Vendemmia and Santa Maria Maggiore Visit

On Wednesday, September 24, Fall Romers had the opportunity to participate in the annual "Vendemmia" or grape harvest of the Rome Campus vineyard. Following the harvest students headed into the city to visit the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore for their afternoon Art & Architecture class.

Fall 2014 Rome Campania Trip

Fall Romers set off on an educational trip to Campania over the weekend of September 12-14 where they visited Montecassino, Pompeii, the Almalfi coast and Paestum.

Fall 2014 Roman Forum and Colosseum Class Visit

Fall Romers participated in their first Art & Architecture site visit on Wednesday, September 10th as they ventured into Rome to tour the Roman Forum & Colosseum. The site visits were accompanied by lectures from Dr. Hatlie and Dr. Freni on the architectural and historical significance of the monuments.

Fall 2014 Rome Castelli Excursion, Wine Tasting

Students visited three hill towns of the Castelli Romani on Saturday afternoon: Castel Gandolfo, Nemi and the mountain top of Tuscolo. Following their Castelli excursion the students headed back to campus to be treated with an evening wine tasting and formal dinner on the campus grounds.
