The Catholic University for Independent Thinkers
Overnight visits are offered to high school seniors during the regular academic year (September through April). Visiting students who wish to stay overnight will be matched with a freshman host and will sleep on the floor of the freshman's residence hall room. That said, overnight visitors should be prepared to sleep on the floor of their host's bedroom and to share communal bathrooms.
How do I arrange an overnight visit?
To register for an overnight visit, click here and fill out a registration form or call the Office of Admission at 800-628-999.
To ensure the best possible hosting experience, please register for your visit at
least two weeks in advance. Overnight visits are available Sunday through Thursday
evenings only. If you would like to stay overnight on a weekend, you must register
for an Open House Program.
What if I want to stay with someone I know?
Visiting students who wish to stay with someone they know are free to make overnight
arrangements on their own. Please register for a campus visit, though, so that we
may arrange meetings, tours, classes and the like.
How do I get to campus from the airport?
Visitors are responsible for making airport transportation arrangements. We suggest
booking a shared ride shuttle online at www.supershuttle.com.
Where will my parents stay?
We are unable to provide on-campus accommodations for family members or friends accompanying
visiting students. Family members or friends who need a place to stay can take advantage
of arrangements we have made with several preferred hotels in the area.

What should I bring?
Pack a sleeping bag, pillow, towel, personal items, comfortable clothing and shoes
and anything you would normally need for an overnight stay.
Do I need spending money?
While you may need money on hand for airport transportation, emergencies or a UD t-shirt,
you will not need to be concerned about paying for meals. The overnight stay includes
at least three meal tickets for you to enjoy meals on campus.
What will I do with my host?
Overnight visitors will experience a typical campus evening, attending campus events,
eating in the cafeteria and experiencing residence life. In some cases, hosts may
have obligations including a class, studies, club meetings and even work study positions
on campus. For this reason, we suggest that overnight visitors bring a flexible attitude
for the visit.
