Dr. Jamie Collins

Jamie Collins received his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University, specializing in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship; he is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the University of Dallas College of Business. He teaches courses in Business Ethics and Entrepreneurship. He previously taught at the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University, Southwestern University and Texas A&M University. He is currently working on research related to entrepreneurial strategic choice, entrepreneurial ethics and family business. Prior to obtaining his doctorate, Jamie spent several years in private industry.  He has previously served as a member of the management team of a private equity group, where he led investment screening and due diligence for the firm. Other prior industry experience includes: aerospace/defense, energy, financial services, and software. He currently owns a real estate and agri-business investment firm.

Dr. Collins has published numerous journal articles in a wide range of outlets, both academic and practitioner-focused. His research has been published in Academy of Management Executive, Business Horizons, Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education,  Inc. Magazine, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Engineering & Technology Management, Management Research Review and others. He has presented dozens of research papers at national/international conferences including: the Academy of Management, Academy of International Business, Strategic Management Society, Babson College Entrepreneurship Research Conference, Family Firm Institute, Family Enterprise Research Conference, United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, and several others.
