Cheryl L. Prachyl received a BBA in Marketing and MS in Accounting from Texas A&M University and a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington. She began her career with NCR Corporation. While there, she worked with the sale, installation, and training of one of the first bar code scanning systems in the United States. She has also worked in banking, insurance, and in small business system consulting.

Dr. Prachyl's areas of research include Accounting Education, Technology in Accounting, and Fraud. Dr. Prachyl has taught Principles of Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Cost Accounting, Auditing, Advanced Accounting, and Intermediate Accounting.

She has presented at the American Accounting Association, World Congress of the International Association for Accounting Education and Research, TSCPA Accounting Education Conference, American Society of Business and Behavioral Sciences, Decision Sciences Institute Southwest Region, and International Business and Education Technology Conference.

Her research has been published in the Journal of Accountancy, Journal of Instructional Pedagogies, Journal of Business and Behavioral Sciences, and Southwestern Business Administration Journal.
