The required text for the course will be Chemistry: A Molecular Approach, 2nd ed. by Nivaldo J.Tro, (ISBN: 9780321651785). These are available for purchase in the University Book Store.
The laboratory text is a special order from Brooks/Cole and will be available in the Book Store for purchase. You will need goggles and a laboratory notebook which will be provided at no cost.
To give you an idea of the day to day schedule here is the 2012 calendar.
Class is from 8:45 to 11:45 each morning with a thirty minute break at 10:00. There are two lab sections. The pre-lab lecture is 1:00-1:30; Section 1 is 1:30-4:00 and Section 2 is 3:30-6:00.
Exams will be on each Monday morning from 8:00-10:00. There will be twelve laboratory experiments each semester as well as a lab mid-term and final. Various activities and trips are planned for each week on either Friday evening or Saturday.
