In the 50 years that degrees have been awarded there were xxx students graduating
in Physics, an average of 3.6 per year. The great majority of them continued their
studies in physics or related fields; it was the exception that a student entered
a job market without further professional preparation. Graduates were highly successful
securing assistantships or scholarships in good graduate departments. National awards
include four from the NSF, two from the AEC, a Fulbright, and a Woodrow Wilson.
At least 47 physics graduates have received a Ph.D. in physics.
21% of UD physics graduates are now employed after receiving an M.S. in physics or
related field.
74% have already received advanced degrees in physics, medicine, or law.
