Business & Society Network Hosts Panel on How Apps Solve Environmental Challenges

The Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business will host a panel discussion on Friday, Oct. 10, to explore why and how companies and entrepreneurs are developing apps to solve environmental challenges. The event will take place from 7:30 - 9:30 a.m. in the Haggar University Center. The complimentary event includes breakfast, presentations, an interactive roundtable discussion and networking with Dallas/Fort Worth business leaders.

Meet UD's 15 New Faculty Members

UD welcomed 15 new faculty members this fall. The faculty members began teaching classes for undergraduate Constantin College of Liberal Arts and Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business programs, the School of Ministry and the Braniff Graduate School of Liberal Arts on Sept. 2.

Since the class gift in 1997 that began the project to bring a Marian shrine to the University of Dallas, one thing has remained consistent: alumni support. Alumni began, resurrected and sustained the project. In keeping with that tradition, Alumni & Family Weekend offers several opportunities for alumni, families, students and friends to become more involved with the project to build a shrine to Our Lady of Guadalupe on campus.

Family Day (Sunday, Oct. 5) will kick off the 2014 UD Charity Week with carnival style games and events for all ages (such as corn hole, cake walks, face painting, Frisbee, juggling and crafts) as well as snacks and prizes. The event runs 10 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Elizabeth Fernandez of the University of Groningen, Kapteyn Astronomical Institute, will lecture in Lynch Auditorium on Oct. 8 on "God, the Multiverse, and Everything: Why Your Existence Has Changed How We See the Universe."
