This summer, the College of Business (COB) will offer students the opportunity to take advantage of the expertise and unique perspective of two visiting professors from Germany and Spain. Matthias Fifka ( far right), the Dr. Jüergen Meyer Endowed Chair for International Business Ethics and Sustainability at Cologne Business School, and David Sanz Bas, professor of economics at the Universidad Católica de Ávila, will each teach a class to COB students as part of the COB's internationalization initiative.
"Now that the College of Business has received accreditation from the international Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), we are pursuing initiatives geared towards giving UD more exposure internationally and providing our students with a well-rounded education with a global perspective," said Robert Scherer, dean of the College of Business.
Fifka, whose expertise is in business ethics and sustainability, will teach Business & Society. Fifka has taught and studied in the U.S. and is looking forward to visiting Texas for the first time and teaching at a small liberal arts college. Sanz Bas, whose expertise is in international economics, will teach Foundations of Economics.
"As part of our internationalization initiatives within the College of Business, we are working to foster partnerships with universities abroad. We look forward to having visiting professors with us each summer to teach graduate business courses within their areas of expertise and participate in this unique exchange of cultures," said Andrea Gold, enrollment manager in the COB.
