The university has cancelled all undergraduate and graduate classes beginning after 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6. All Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business classes are cancelled for tonight.
All afternoon classes will be held as scheduled.
All non-essential university employees may leave at 2 p.m. with permission of their supervisors.
There will be ongoing evaluation of the road conditions. If a decision is made to close the university or delay the start of Friday classes, a notice will be sent tomorrow between 6-6:30 a.m.
Emergency service personnel and designated essential service personnel are expected to report to work to keep essential services and operations functioning. Dining services will be available even when the university closes because of inclement weather.
UD's goal is to maintain the normal operations and educational processes of the University while remaining sensitive to safety concerns. Therefore, if UD remains open, faculty, students and staff should report to their classrooms or offices as usual.
Please remember that all employees and students are expected to exercise individual judgment regarding their ability to travel safely when the campus is open and inclement weather is in the area. You are not expected to place travel for work or class attendance above your own individual health and safety.
