Faculty and staff are invited to nominate outstanding seniors for the special awards announced during commencement.
The Ann Heller Maberry Award is conferred annually upon a senior woman distinguished by outstanding character, high academic achievement, proven responsibility, and service to the university.
The Cardinal Spellman Award is conferred annually upon a senior man or woman who has attained a G.P.A. of at least 3.5, aspires to graduate study in an academic or professional field and exemplifies the ideals of the university.
The Helen L. Corbitt Awards recognize a senior woman and a senior man who, while at UD, produced an outstanding set of achievements that enriched the life of the university. A separate letter will be sent to all graduating seniors with a G.P.A. of 3.40 or better, inviting them to apply. Faculty and staff should encourage eligible students to apply for the Corbitt; consideration for this award requires the submission of a portfolio outlining the student's achievements.
This year you are asked to submit your nominations using an on-line form.
Graduating seniors in Constantin College, School of Ministry and College of Business who meet the criteria for each award are eligible for consideration. Please make nominations for each award based on the criteria stated in the award description. What you say about the candidate will largely determine the judgement the Awards Committee makes, so be as specific as possible. Nominators must identify themselves on the form, but they remain anonymous to the nominees.
Seniors will be notified of their nomination. If they wish to be considered they must submit a one page description of their achievements to the Awards Committee for consideration.
Submit all nominations no later than 5 p.m. Friday, April 12. Please use a separate form for each nomination. A reminder will be sent on April 10.
