Approximately 275 bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees will be conferred upon students on Sunday, May 19 at 9 a.m. on the Braniff Mall, during UD's 54th annual commencement ceremony. Ernie Sadau, CEO of Catholic health organization CHRISTUS Health, will deliver the address to graduates.
Other events that weekend include the Baccalaureate Mass at 6 p.m. in the Maher Athletic Center and the President's Reception at 7:30 p.m. in Haggar on Saturday, May 18.
Tickets to the President's Reception honoring seniors are complimentary for faculty, staff and their spouses. Employees are asked to RSVP online by May 15.
Sadau, who has more than 25 years of experience in health care operations and finance, has served as president and chief executive officer of CHRISTUS Health since March 1, 2011. Before moving to his current position, Sadau held the roles of senior vice president of patient and resident care operations and senior vice president and chief operating officer at CHRISTUS Health.
In addition, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, in the Maher Athletic Center, the School of Ministry will present certificates and pins to those students who have successfully completed the four-year advanced biblical studies program of the Catholic Biblical School. School of Ministry graduate students who have successfully completed their degrees will also receive pins in advance of commencement the following day. Msgr. Gregory Kelly, vicar for clergy of the Catholic Diocese of Dallas and University of Dallas trustee, will preside.
