As the inaugural Orange Line train rode into DFW International Airport on Friday, Aug. 15, breaking the orange ribbon strung across the tracks, UD was there. Not only were President Thomas W. Keefe, Executive Vice President Bob Galecke and Dean Robert Scherer aboard the inaugural train, but the Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business is one of eight presenting sponsors of the DFW Airport Station opening celebration.
For the next five weeks, beginning Aug. 18, look for the college of business on the inside of 150 DART trains and buses and wrapped across the outside of 25 buses and trains. The college also will be listed prominently in DART print ads, in the DART GoPass app and on DART.org.
Among the other presenting sponsors are Verizon, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and American Airlines.
"Direct access to one of the nation's busiest airports will attract global corporations to the region, creating additional opportunities for our approximately 1,000 graduate business students and 16,000 business alumni," said Scherer in an article on DART's blog, DART Daily.
With the DART Orange Line extension from Belt Line station north into DFW International Airport at Terminal A, the airport is only a 25-minute train ride away from campus.
