The Catholic University for Independent Thinkers
This summer, David Sweet will step down as the Braniff Graduate School of Liberal
Arts dean, a role in which he has served for more than 12 years. He will remain at
UD, however, teaching full-time and chairing the Classics Department. During his tenure,
Braniff has grown in size, quality and reputation.
"I commend Dr. Sweet for his excellent leadership and look forward to many more years of working with him," said President Thomas W. Keefe. "The entire university is grateful to him for 12 years of service as Braniff's dean."
"The reputation of the doctoral program, which has a placement rate matched by few schools in the country, has never stood higher than it did under Dr. Sweet's leadership," said Provost Bill Berry. "While I will miss his leadership as dean, I am happy that he has agreed to continue at UD in a new role."
