Anthony Campise, Jr., a student worker in the Student Activities office and a junior business major, was announced the 2014 student-employee of the year at an April 10 Student Employee Appreciation Luau. Advancement student worker Camille Salazar, a senior Spanish and theology double major, was announced the runner-up.
Student Employees were nominated by their supervisors and rated on their demonstrated performance in the areas of reliability, quality of work, initiative, professionalism and uniqueness of contribution.
Also recognized were nominees for the award Katherine Buckley (School of Ministry), Amaris Cardenas (Biology Department), Mitchel Cruz (Biology Lab), Katie Davern (English Department), Mary Escalante (Business Office), Laura Escalante (Printing & Postal), Christina Nguyen (Career Services) and Curtis Walter (Campus Ministry).
Campise received an iPad Air; Salazar an iPad Mini. The other nominees received $50 Visa Gift Cards.
The week of April 7-11 was National Student Employee Appreciation Week. Departments all over campus showed their appreciation to their student employees by decorating offices, writing thank-you notes, providing refreshments and giving them gift bags.
