Fall Greetings to All Our UD Families!
Fall is in the air and Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Thanksgiving Break officially begins with your student's last class on Tuesday, November 20, and goes through Sunday, November 25. Residents not going home for this holiday may stay in their campus housing; however there is no food service after lunch on Tuesday until dinner on Sunday. Students needing transportation to Love Field or DFW Airport can check this
webpage for some transportation information.
As your student arrives home for Thanksgiving, be prepared for some transition. Your Crusader's newfound independence might be challenging for the family. Click
here to read some hints to help make the transition work.
Registration for spring classes is in full swing and housing registration for the spring will begin next week. Your Crusader has received emails pertaining to both of these registration processes.
Hopefully your student was able to report successful progress after midterms. If your student seems to be struggling, you may recommend a visit to the
Academic Success Advisor, meeting with the professor or seeking
tutoring.
I would like to express my gratitude to you all for sharing your sons and daughters with us at UD. We are grateful for the wonderful young men and women that attend UD each year. As a family - you, your student and the University will continue to challenge these bright young adults to be independent thinkers and become responsible leaders for their family, community, country and church. We are honored to be a part of your family's odyssey!
Happy thanksgiving!
Valerie Landrum
