Selena Anguiano studied classical and modern dance for 12 years from age 3. Moving to theatre in high school, she worked with Dallas Shakespeare Festival’s Junior Players, Teenage Communication Theatre and the Dallas Theater Center. In college, Selena continued arts administration training with the Dallas and Colorado Shakespeare Festivals. Upon graduating, she received a full tuition scholarship to the University of Southern Mississippi’s Graduate Directing Program. Selena followed her MFA studies with a Dallas Children's Theater Summer Education Internship; and continued as an instructor, unionized actor and resident production manager. In 2004 she moved to Washington, DC to serve as a Production Manager for the John F. Kennedy Center; stayed on as a Cultural Arts Festival consultant, then moved to full-time Education Administration.
Her work at the Kennedy Center resulted in collaborations with The Little Art, a nonprofit youth arts organization in Lahore, Pakistan. In 2011 The Little Art sent Selena to the UAE to lead development of a performing arts festival for youth in Dubai; attend to a strategic arts management consultancy and youth foundation development for the Sheikha Jawaher Al Qasimi of Sharjah. Following work in the UAE, Selena led a highly successful fundraising campaign as part of a greater development consultancy for Dancing Classrooms NYC.
Selena continues to serve remotely, as a consultant for The Little Art in Pakistan; and Prague Philharmonia, CR. She submits requested white papers and essays for publications and conferences for the Institut Umeni in Prague. She also assists with management of a US-wide performing arts conservatory for youth and young adults, USPA. Selena has a Bachelor of Art in Drama from the University of Dallas and a Master of Art in Cultural Policy and Management from the City University, London England.
