Juror Dick Hay
Dick Hay received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Ohio University and his Master of Fine Arts degree from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. Professor Hay has been an artist/educator and mentor to Indiana State University students for over 40 years. He retired in 2006 and now holds the academic rank of Professor Emeritus of Art. He is a member and past-president of the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts. He was recognized by the organization and received the ʻFellowship of the Councilʼ and ʻExcellence in Teachingʼ award.
Hay has been exhibited in over two-hundred thirty exhibitions and can be found in major collections throughout the world. He was one of fifteen American artists invited to lecture at the Dzintari Art Institute, Jurmala, Latvia; and one of three American artists invited to lecture at the Muju International Art Symposium, in Muju, Korea. He is listed in Whoʼs Who In American Art. In the tenth anniversary edition of ʻArts Indianaʼ, he was included as a ʻState Art Treasure.ʼ He was also awarded the ʻLifetime Achievement Awardʼ by Arts Illiana, of the State of Indiana.
