Crusaders for Kids is a club dedicated to kids in hospitals. Usually we go to children's hospitals in DFW and bring pizza, cookies, nail polish, nerf guns, and video games and hang out with the kids. With our fundraising efforts, we'd like to make a more substantial contribution to make a difference in a child's life. Last year, we raised $1000 - help us beat that this year!
COSTS: $10 which is donated directly to Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas.
I am a Pre-Med student and am the current president of "America Runs on Dallas", the running club here at University of Dallas. I will be running in order to raise money for the Make a Wish Foundation, which benefits children with terminal illnesses.
I am passionate about running and helping kids! Please help sponsor me and support Crusaders for Kids and Make A Wish Foundation. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Phil. 4:13)
I'm a freshman here at UD. I am a politics major, and I play soccer for the school. I'm thrilled to be a part of such an amazing event, put on by such excellent organizations such as Make a Wish and Crusaders for kids.
I am a junior economics major from St. Louis. I truly have a passion for helping others as well as an inner-drive for self-improvement. When Donovan Kelly approached me about participating in the CFK 5k I immediately said "yes"! I lift weights and play some various sports, but running long distances is not my forte. However, I see this race as an avenue for both challenging myself and supporting a worthy cause. Game On!
I'm a freshmen at the University of Dallas. My hometown is either Bronxville, NY or San Diego, CA depending on who I am talking to; I have moved many times. I am undeclared as far as my major but leaning towards philosophy with a minor in art. In all seriousness I plan on being a lawyer. I'm running for CFK because I believe it to be a good cause. I hope that you feel the same way and donate.
Alex Macdonald is graduating senior history major. Alex has been very involved at the University of Dallas over the last four years. He also has worked in the Office of Admissions for the past two years.
Matt Cyr is a sophomore Biochemistry major at the University of Dallas. He is from St. Louis, Missouri where he graduated from Christian Brothers College High School. He belongs to several on campus organizations including Student Government, Alpha Delta Gamma Fraternity, Crusaders for Life, Pre-Health Society and the Division III Men's Lacrosse program.
Samantha Bond is a junior Business major at the University of Dallas and describes herself as an avid runner. She got interested in this 5k when she heard about Kassaundra, a 7 year old who wanted to showcase a music video and had the chance because of Make-A-Wish.
One week in November, I made a trip to Jamaica to work with disabled children and adults. Upon returning, I realized very quickly one does not need to travel abroad to make a difference. I am very blessed to have the ability to live a healthy life and participate in activities such as collegiate track and field, Tough Mudders, and other athletic events.
