What Chapter are you?

• • Chapter 30 - Active Duty Educational Assistance Program
  • Chapter 31 - Vocational Rehabilitation
  • Chapter 32 - Veterans Educational Assistance Program (VEAP)
  • Chapter 33 - Post 9/11
  • Chapter 35 - Dependents' Educational Assistance Program (DEA)
  • Chapter 1606 - Selected Reserve
  • Chapter 1607 - Reserve Educational Assistance Program (REAP)

Chapter 30 (Montgomery GI Bill), Chapter 1606, VEAP, Chapter 33 (Post 9/11 GI Bill)

• Submit online to VA:
  • Apply online for your VA education benefits at:
    • VONAPP.
  • Submit a Change of Program or Place of Training form (22-1995) (If you previously used VA benefits at another school)
  • If you wish to apply for different VA benefits, you must submit a new Application for VA Education Benefits (22-1990)

• Depending on Chapter, provide the following to your Veterans Representative:
  • Copies of all DD-214 forms (May be requested at http://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records)
  • Current Military ID if on Active Duty
  • Copy of Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE)
  • Copy of 22-1995 or 22-1990
  • Certificate of Eligibility (COE) (each time you receive one)
  • Transcripts from every school attended
  • Military Transcript (If you have one - required of ALL students requesting to be certified for VA benefits)
  • Request the following military transcripts:
    • SMART
    • AARTS
    • CCAF
    • USCG

Provide the following to your Veterans Representative:

• • Copy of 22-5495 or 22-5490
  • Certificate of Eligibility (COE)
  • Transcripts from every school attended
