This is an early reminder from the Office of Student Life to campus hall residents that as stated in the student handbook, in hall contracts and on the web site the residence halls close for spring break at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, and do not reopen until 8 a.m. on Sunday, March 17. Rooms in the traditional halls will be dead-bolted for additional security during this period. Swipe card access to rooms in The New Hall will automatically expire for the spring break period.
Separate arrangements are being made for resident athletes who are required to be on campus during any part of the break and will be communicated directly to the athletes.
Don't forget that once you have left your current room you absolutely CANNOT return to that room until after spring break. There will be NO STAFF AVAILABLE to let you back into your regular room. Do NOT call the Campus Safety Office.
Since there is no access during the spring break period, be sure to take anything
with you that you may need during spring break.
This could include such items as:
• driver's license
• any and all keys
• prescriptions/over-the-counter medications/medical devices
• cell phones/laptops
• jewelry/special occasion clothing and shoes
Prior to leaving and locking your current room, and to avoid fines, you are also required
• unplug all electrical appliances from the wall outlets (including defrosting and emptying the fridge)
• lock the windows and lower the blinds halfway
• secure or remove valuable items
• empty trash cans
• turn out all lights
Have a safe spring break!
