Student Government and Student Programming at the University of Dallas (SPUD) have been working hard this semester to raise awareness of their organizations and get more students involved on campus.
On Friday, March 1, Spud and SG held a "SPUD/SG Awareness Day" during which they gave out free shirts with SPUD's newest logo on it, as well as free tater-tots to any student who sported an old SPUD or SG shirt.
The event featured "SG on the Mall," which is a Student Government-run booth hosted by the Student Relations Committee, to inform students about SG and to gather student opinion on certain "hot-topic" issues on campus. Last week, the Student Relations committee asked students for their opinion on recycling.
In addition to featuring "SG on the Mall," student government senators also handed out SG's new bi-weekly newsletter publication titled, The Beacon, which was started by the Public Relations Committee.
The turnout for the event was great and students enjoyed getting their t-shirts and tater-tots while also enjoying Friday's weekly Music on the Mall.
