It is a busy spring semester for the Office of Admission! Aspiring Scholars Preview, the first of two visit weekends for high school juniors, was held February 22 – 23, 2013; 104 college-minded juniors from across the U.S. visited campus to experience life as a UD student. They participated in general information sessions, campus tours with current students, Core curriculum and major-specific classes, and most chose to stay on campus overnight in a residence hall. On Saturday morning, they participated in the Aspiring Scholars Award Program, taking an exam that painted a picture of what academic life would be like as a UD student while also providing an opportunity to earn a merit scholarship. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and each of the students walked away with a better understanding of what they would experience inside and outside of the classroom should they choose to attend the University of Dallas. The next Aspiring Scholars Preview will be held June 3-4, 2013; any interested high school junior can register online.
The Office of Admission looks forward to upcoming visits from admitted seniors as they approach the National Candidate Reply Date of May 1. A final visit to a top choice college can greatly aid seniors with the decision process. Visiting as an admitted student in the spring allows each student to see campus with a different perspective than they may have experienced during a previous visit. All students admitted into the University of Dallas Class of 2017 are invited to attend the Meet Us @ the Tower event April 11-12, 2013. Registration is available online.
April 1, 2013, is the Priority Housing deadline for admitted students. Those that choose to deposit on or before April 1 will be guaranteed placement in their first choice residence hall once additional housing requirements have also been met. All students who deposit by May 1, 2013, are guaranteed on campus housing, although they may not be placed in their first choice residence hall. Contact the Office of Admission for more information.
Currently, the Office of Admission has several student job openings for the 2013 – 2014 school year. The positions available include working as a Student Ambassador, a Marketing Intern or a Tele-Recruiter. For more information, current students are encouraged to stop by the Visit Center during normal business hours.
