FL15 Castelli Excursion & Wine Tasting

The Fall 2015 Rome class rounded off their first full week in Rome with an excursion to the Castelli Romani visiting Tuscolo and Nemi followed by a special evening wine tasting hosted by Monsignor Fucinaro.

FL15 Scavenger Hunt & Dinner in Castelli

With a busy first week in Rome the Fall 2015 Rome class took a break midweek with a scavenger hunt through the city, a quick swim in Lake Albano and a relaxing dinner afresco at Ristorante Da Agnese in the Castelli Romani.

FL15 First Day in Rome

The Fall 2015 Rome class woke up bright and early on Sunday, August 23 to make their first trip into Rome. The students toured St. Peter's Basilica and attended mass at the Altar of St. Joseph, followed by walking tours of the city given by faculty and staff.

FL15 Rome Arrival

On Saturday, August 22 the Fall 2015 Rome class arrived to their new home for the next four months, the Eugene Constantin Rome Campus at Due Santi. The students settled into campus, attended opening convocation and had their first Italian meal.

Latin in Rome Naples Trip

Latin in Rome students headed off to the Naples area to visit Capri, Mt. Vesuvius and Pompeii for their class trip excursion.

Arete Weekend Field Trips

Arete students spent a busy weekend exploring the Dallas and Fort Worth Arts Districts and attending a live performance of Romeo and Juliet at Shakespeare in the Park.

Shakespeare Northern Italy Trip

July 23, 2015
On Thursday, July 16 Shakespeare in Italy students left campus to begin their four day trip visiting Venezia, Padova and Vincenza. The students saw such sites as the Doge's Palace, S. Marco and the Villa Rotonda.

UD Welcomes ARETE Students for High School Summer Program

On Sunday, July 12 the University of Dallas welcomed 24 students to the Irving campus for the eighth summer of the Arete program. The students were kept busy in their first week on campus as they studied works from Plato to Shakespeare, discussed celebrated films and participated in several events on campus all contributing to learning more about "the noble life".

Arete Alumni Return to Arete

The Shakespeare in Italy group explored several sites over their first few days in Rome visiting the Aventine Hill, the Theatre of Marcellus, the Roman Forum, Colosseum, Piazza Navona and the Pantheon.

From Irving to Italy

We were very happy to welcome our High School Summer Program participants for Shakespeare in Italy and Latin in Rome to our Irving campus on July 8th. The students departed for our Rome campus on July 9th, arriving at DueSanti on July 10th. Each program then began its own enriching journey!

SP15 Final Dinner in Rome

To begin final exams week, the students rode buses into the city for a final dinner in Rome. The evening included a final mass in Rome celebrated by Rome chaplain Msgr. Fucinaro at the church of San Martino ai Monti.

SP15 Galleria Borghese

For the last Art & Architecture visit of the semester the students visited the Galleria Borghese, a beautiful villa-turned-museum situated among the Borghese Gardens.

SP15 Dallas Volunteer Program

April 27, 2015
Every semester the Rome students have a chance to enrol in a one-credit course called the Dallas Volunteer Program in which the University of Dallas pairs with local schools to teach English to Italian students.
