End-of-Semester Celebration in Rome
Spring '08 Romers celebrated the end of classes on Friday 2 May with a dinner in Rome that was followed by a faculty-staff led concert at a nearby pub. After morning classes, students boarded buses to Rome and spent the afternoon enjoying the Eternal City.
As the sun set, all 101 students, as well as a large number of faculty and staff members, converged at a restaurant near the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore where they enjoyed a lovely dinner of Roman antipasto, pizza, and the dessert most favored by Rome students, tiramisu.
After dinner, students, faculty, and staff headed off to the Fiddler's Elbow for a concert staged in honor of semester's end by Philosophy Professor, D.W. Hadley, & Facilities Assistant, J.T. Kennelly.
Besides providing a jovial environment in which all were able to relax after an academically intense semester, the fabulous music provided by Dr. Hadley and J.T., as well as the casual pub environment, provoked joyous celebration and an opportunity for a bit of socialization before hitting the books in preparation for final exams.
