Designed to educate high school students about the pursuit of excellence, the Arete program serves as a two-week forum in which to read and discuss ancient and modern texts on the noble life. This college preparatory program also gives Juniors, Seniors, or recently graduated UD students the chance to share their education with others. Arete RAs are responsible for extracurricular activities and for helping the Arete director complete errands (morning coffee, grocery runs, airport pick-ups and drop-offs). RAs are tasked with the role of making sure that participants are present and accounted for on a daily basis. The job of serving as an RA is a 24/7 commitment: it requires all hands on deck. RAs are expected to attend meals, evening activities, and weekend outings with the students.
Compensation for the role of RA is $1000. This summer's program will take place July 13-26, 2014. Resident Assistants will report to campus the Friday before the program begins. See the job description for additional information, especially regarding student life.
The formal submission of a resume and a brief statement of interest (200 words) addressing suitability for the role is required. Please submit these forms to Ms. Jennifer Massicci at email@example.com by January 1, 2014.
