Why Cybersecurity at UD? 

  • The University of Dallas is an established Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (CAE-C) for Cyber Defense (CD). The goal of the CAE-C is to promote and support quality academic programs of higher learning to help produce the nation’s cyber workforce. 
  • The University of Dallas has been designated by the National Security Agency (NSA) as a CAE since 2003 and has successfully re-designated throughout the years. 
  • The CAE-C is guided by the NSA, a Cybersecurity Industry Advisory Board and cybersecurity professor experts. The NSA Cybersecurity Advisory Board experts and UD professors provide insights and expertise to inform the development of practice-based business education within the CAE-C.
  • The M.S. in Cybersecurity for Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) program of study is designed to offer students a real world cybersecurity education taught by experienced industry professionals. The cybersecurity master’s program dives into the critical topics facing organizations today. The topics include data protection, legal and compliance, programming, operational and strategic cybersecurity management, penetration testing and digital forensics.

This 30-credit-hour program provides an in-depth education with a leadership and ethics focus. Students who complete this degree often pursue careers in areas such as threat analysis, cyber defense, network security, penetration testing and digital forensics. This program may be completed 100% online.

Alexa Reubens, MS ’22

The University of Dallas — Center for Cybersecurity is an established cybersecurity center within the University of Dallas Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business. In 2003, the University of Dallas was designated a Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) by the National Security Agency (NSA). The University of Dallas values the support and guidance provided by the NSA and has been successfully re-designated as a CAE for nearly 20 years. Students graduating from the University of Dallas – have the confidence that the master’s Program of Study (POS) aligns with the NSA requirements and is a highly qualified CAE in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD).
