Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business Tallies Numerous National Rankings

The University of Dallas Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business has received national recognition for several rankings and awards, including designations for top MBA, DBA and online master's programs.

The honors include rankings from several prestigious organizations applauding UD’s academic success and leadership.

“Our faculty have done an outstanding job identifying and meeting the needs of our current students and the ever-changing needs of our community,” said Gupta College of Business Dean Brett J. L. Landry. “We’re committed to staying at the forefront of business education, and we’re honored to receive recognition for our efforts so far.”

Earlier this year, UD earned a No. 13 spot on Top Management Degrees’ list of the "Top 25 MBA Programs in Texas 2017,” placing the MBA program among the top five private school MBA programs in the state.

The college also received recognition for three online programs, signaling the university’s ability to adapt to the shift in online educational offerings. Online MBA Degrees listed the college of business as a “Top 50 Online MBA Programs in Information & Technology” (2017) and “Top 50 Online MBA Programs in Accounting” (2017). Value Colleges also rated the college as one of the “Top 50 Best Value Online Master's in Accounting Degrees” (2017).

For the second year in a row, the University of Dallas was also named one of the “Forbes Best Value Colleges 2017.”

On the international level, CEO Magazine recognized the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program as one of the premier DBA programs in the world based on accreditation, quality of faculty, geography and global standing.

Recent DBA Alumnus Begins Tenure-Track Position at UNI

Gabe Dickey, DBA '19, recently successfully defended his dissertation, titled "Exploring the Human Side of Audit Quality: Team Engagement and Partner Leadership Behaviors," for UD's Doctor of Business Administration. Dickey has spent his career in the accounting profession, the vast majority as a certified public accountant working in auditing. He began UD's DBA program three years ago, drawn in by his interest in broader business issues and the program's practitioner-oriented focus.

Longtime Campus Safety Officer Sworn In to UDPD

Carlos Tijerina came to UD as a Campus Safety officer 23 years ago. He has loved the camaraderie of the CSO, but it has always been his dream to become a police officer. Then, a little over a year ago, UD finally got a police department. On Sept. 10, Tijerina was sworn in by President Thomas Hibbs as an official part of the UDPD team.

New Trustee Brings Vast Array of Experience to UD's Board

"I guess I'm a man for all seasons," said Irving City Councilman Al Zapanta, who was elected to the University of Dallas Board of Trustees on May 31. Zapanta has had, as he explained, three different, often overlapping careers: in the military, in the private sector, and in both federal and state government and politics.
