The University of Dallas' Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business has announced
the appointment of Sheila Howard to assistant dean for undergraduate business programs.
Howard joined the college's staff in 1990 as student services coordinator. Throughout
her 26 years at the university, she has served as director of student records and
associate director of undergraduate business programs before being promoted in 2014
to director of undergraduate business programs.
"Much of the growth of our undergraduate business program has been directly related
to Sheila Howard's efforts," said Gupta College of Business Dean Brett J.L. Landry.
"I admire her dedication to the university and to making a positive difference in
our students' lives."
Through her mentoring, guiding and teaching of more than 2,000 graduate and 400 undergraduate
business students, Howard has played a crucial role in the growth and success of the
business program. Alumni who have worked with Howard remember her devotion to students
and determination to ensure their success.
"Sheila was someone to whom I could always go for advice and direction throughout
my time at UD," said Cosette Kulda, BA '15. "She genuinely cares about student success
and goes above and beyond to help them get the most out of their education at UD."
Howard earned both a Master of Education in Educational Administration and an undergraduate
degree from Texas A&M University.
