What are the admissions requirements?

There are no formal admission requirements however, students should have acquired knowledge in accounting, financial calculator protocol, finance, and economics, through extensive job experience. There is no application fee required to enroll in the program. Please review the CFP Board requirements for certification prior to registration.

Class Attendance/Missing Class

Attendance is mandatory, and any missed lessons are required to be completed online. There is a $25 fee per missed lesson. Students can only miss four lessons in any one class. 

If a student needs to miss more than one weekend of class, UD recommends the student take the entire class online. Please contact Kathy Whitgrove at 972-721-5298 with any questions about attendance.

Where will my classes be held?

Your classes will be held at University of Dallas - Irving Campus. The location of your classrooms will be e-mailed out prior to the first class meeting. Campus Address: 1845 E. Northgate Drive, Irving, TX 75062.

When do I need to pay?

You will need to pay a minimum of 10-days prior to the first meeting date of the course.

How do I pay?

To pay, go to the payment portal --> select the class from the drop down menu on the left side of the navigation. If this is your first time using the payment portal you will be required to setup an account, this is similar to most online shopping applications. How much is tuition?

 $800 for each class and includes course materials.

Program cost (all seven classes): $5,600

Are course materials included in the tuition?

Yes. The student will receive the books in one of two ways.

1. At the beginning of the entire program new students will be shipped the course materials from Zahn Associates, Inc. This is not done until a week before class starts.

2. In the term if you took the class offered before the materials will be ordered the third week of class and delivered to you by the instructor on the fourth weekend. Students who only need to take a few courses to finish and are not in the entire program will be shipped materials from Zahn a week before class begins.

Does the University of Dallas offer the CFP classes for credit?


What is the refund policy or how do I withdraw from a course?

Students may cancel an enrollment by notifying UD in writing a minimum of 3 business days before the first scheduled class session.

Should UD cancel a course, full tuition will be refunded.

No refunds are permitted once a class has started.

How do I request a 1098-T?

The business offices only give 1098-T to students who are pursuing a graduate degree.
