Garrett Gustafson

"I believe my education in the theoretical aspects of economics, combined with practical characteristics of finance provides an encompassing understanding of financial markets, which I plan on applying to the UD SMIF. I am positive that with the introduction of the UD student managed investment fund, students will have the opportunity to gain valuable and real experience in the portfolio management. I plan on taking the concepts in stock valuation and investment portfolio management I will learn working with the SMIF, and apply them to the CFA exam, which I plan on taking upon my graduation. After graduation, along with CFA certification, I plan on seeking employment with an investment bank."

Ashley Magana

Senior
"I am a business major with a concentration in Pre-Law and I am currently a senior student. Business management is of interest to me and I would like to one day own my own business. As a result, Finance is extremely important to me as it would be very helpful in the running of a business. I would like to learn about financial planning in SMIF and investing in general. I believe that this would give me a better grasp on finance and knowing how to properly use and invest money."

William Remmes
Economics & Finance
Junior
"I am confident that participating in the UD student managed investment fund will be an excellent opportunity to develop my equity valuation skills and provide a unique experience in managing a real investment portfolio. As I begin studying for the CFA exams, working with the SMIF will enable me to apply concepts in stock valuation to real investing situations, deepening my understanding of the material for the exams. I plan to pursue all three levels of the CFA after graduating and ultimately work for an asset management firm."
