Comprehensive Examination

Antes de graduarse todos los alumnos que se especializan en el espaol hacen un examen comprensivo (examen de revlida).  Este examen les permite reflexionar sobre lo que han estudiando durante tres o cuatro aos.  Consiste de cuatro ensayos escritos en el castellano.  El examen refleja nuestro programa interdisciplinario.  Las cuatro secciones son: 

Literatura peninsular
Literatura hispanoamericana
Historia

Lingustica e historia del arte

Los estudiantes que no hayan tenido la oportunidad de estudiar algo de lingustica o historia del arte pueden escribir un segundo ensayo sobre literatura o historia.  

Los alumnos tienen que aprobar las cuatro secciones.  En caso de suspender una, se repite esa seccin del examen el semestre siguiente.  El examen se puede hacer en el Otoo o la Primavera.  No se ofrece durante las vacaciones de verano.  

El examen comprensivo dura cuatro horas.  No se indican los temas de antemano.  Cada seccin tiene unas cuantas opciones para que el alumno pueda escoger.  

Se reparten bibliografas de libros requeridos y recomendados cada semestre en la reunin de orientacin obligatoria para los estudiantes que se especializan en el espaol.

Senior Story 2020: Legacy Physics Major Soars Toward Aerospace

Given his strong UD legacy, Bill Bennett, BS '20, was practically destined to attend the University of Dallas. Stories about UD's Rome Program and rugby were essential aspects of Bennett's childhood given that both of his parents, as well as many extended relatives, are UD alumni. But while UD was in his blood, he ultimately chose UD because he wanted both a liberal arts education and a degree in physics, and he knew UD was the best place to combine the two.

It is not uncommon for the University of Dallas (UD) and the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) to get confused, and Adella Klinte, BA '20, was unfortunately subject to that confusion. When she applied to UD, Klinte thought she was applying to UTD. Crazy though it may seem, Klinte thinks it was God's plan all along.
