Admissions Process

Nursing Admissions Process

Each student will enter a curriculum designed by UD that includes minimal course requirements as outlined by the TWU College of Nursing. Biology Lab studentsStudents are encouraged to take as many courses in the sciences as possible, but should realize that a strong liberal arts background is important for the development of well-rounded and successful students and health practitioners.

Students entering UD for the cooperative degree program will be assigned an advisor at TWU who will provide the student with a personal contact during the initial course of study at UD. The advisor will also assist the student in the timely completion of processes, such as completing TWU College of Nursing admission procedures and requirements.

To qualify for admission at TWU, students must meet the following deadlines.

June 15 November 15 Take the TEAS-V exam.  Students will need to score at least 64% on all sections of the exam (Reading, Math, English, Science).
July 1 December 1 Apply to TWU as a transfer.  Application information is available online through the TWU website.
September 1 February 1 Deadline to submit the application for upper-division nursing to the College of Nursing through the Pioneer Portal.
October 30 March 30 Receive notification from TWU of acceptance.
November 30 August 30 Complete the UD Biology comprehensive exam.
January August Begin taking classes at TWU.

UD Presents: 'Dwelling: Paintings by Peter Ligon and Layla Luna'

The Beatrice M. Haggerty Gallery is pleased to announce an upcoming exhibition featuring two Dallas/Fort Worth area artists, Peter Ligon and Layla Luna, who articulate the architectural styling of dwelling spaces in their paintings. Both artists will give presentations at an opening reception on Friday, March 23, at 5:30 p.m. in the Haggar Art History Auditorium located in the Haggerty Art Village on the University of Dallas’ Irving campus.

Politics Major Empowers Youth, Shares Story Through Theater

Although she herself is not able to vote, Liz Magallanes, BA '18, works to make voting possible for other people. She first got involved with the organization Mi Familia Vota in 2014 and has been contributing to their endeavors ever since, including working with high school students in Dallas ISD. Additionally, she recently had a role in the play "Deferred Action."
