The University of Dallas and the Catholic Diocese of Dallas, co-sponsors of the University of Dallas Ministry Conference, announced that to better reflect their partnership, the conference will henceforth be known as the Dallas Ministry Conference. The 10th annual conference will be held Sept. 29-Oct. 1, 2016, at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas.

“The new name embodies the commitment of the conference and the goal to reach out to the broader community by truly walking together in faith,” said Theodore Whapham, dean of the University of Dallas School of Ministry.

“The new name reflects the combined effort and energy to provide excellent formation for ministry professionals and Catholics who want to learn more about their faith,” said Bishop Kevin J. Farrell. “The Dallas Ministry Conference welcomes all those seeking the best in ongoing education and spiritual enrichment.”

The Most Rev. Blase J. Cupich, archbishop of Chicago, will deliver the keynote address. Cupich serves as the ninth Archbishop of Chicago and is active on numerous committees. He received his doctorates of sacred theology and sacramental theology from the Catholic University of America; his dissertation was titled “Advent in the Roman Tradition: An Examination and Comparison of the Lectionary Readings as Hermeneutical Units in Three Periods.” The archbishop will give his address the morning of Friday, Sept. 30.

The Dallas Ministry Conference welcomes people from all over the world. In 2015, 32 states and five countries were represented, with participants from 12 Texas dioceses and 39 dioceses in other parts of the United States. It is the Southwest’s largest Catholic ministry conference.

Conference registration will open in early April. For more information, visit udallas.edu/dmc.
