Catholic school educators in central Texas will soon have a new resource for deepening
their knowledge of the Catholic tradition and gaining dynamic skills for leadership
through the University of Dallas’ Master of Catholic School Leadership program re-opening this fall.
The graduate program, which is newly redesigned to respond to the current issues faced
by Catholic school leaders, is a collaborative effort by the Department of Education in the Braniff Graduate School of Liberal Arts in conjunction with the Ann and Joe O. Neuhoff School of Ministry. The program aims to serve principals, presidents and administrators at the elementary,
secondary and diocesan levels of Catholic education.
“The University of Dallas is uniquely prepared to respond to the particular challenges
that face Catholic school leaders, who desire expertise in education, the administrative
knowledge to navigate their school’s culture, finances and organization, and a thorough
grounding in their Catholic identity,” said Neuhoff School of Ministry Dean Theodore J. Whapham.
Catholic School Leadership students complete seven education courses offered by the
Braniff Graduate School of Liberal Arts’ Education Department and five foundational
ministry courses through the Neuhoff School of Ministry. Course topics include moral
theology, school finance and church history, among others.
“Students will have the opportunity to draw on the Education Department and the Neuhoff
School of Ministry’s decades of experience with all areas of Catholic education,”
said Janette Boazman, associate professor of education.
The Master of Catholic School Leadership program consists of 37 credit hours, with
courses offered online or on campus, with evening times. Students will also participate
in an internship in a Catholic school under the supervision of a field-based mentor.
Scholarships are available.
