Constantin First-Generation Scholarship

Supporting First-Generation College Students

Qualifications:

  1. Applicants must be current, full-time undergraduate University of Dallas students.
  2. Applicants must be eligible for a Pell Grant for the 2022-23 aid year or have an EFC equivalent to Pell Grant eligibility with submission of a 2022-2023 TASFA.
  3. Applicants must be first-generation college students; defined as a student whose parent(s)/legal guardian(s) have not completed a bachelor's degree.
  4. Applicants must have either been born in Texas or be current Texas residents.

Requirements:

  1. Within the application below, students must submit a piece on the following topic: 

When you think about your experience at UD thus far, what particular strengths tied to your background have helped you navigate college? If you have relied on any of these strengths to contribute to the University or local community in any way, please also include/discuss those contributions. 

Submissions can take any one of the forms listed below.
a. Short essay of 1-2 pages (350-750 words)
b. Video (3-5 minutes)
c. Work of art of any medium; visual*, audio**, or written
*For visual art pieces, submit 1-2 photographs and a short artist's statement about the piece.
**Audio pieces should not exceed 5 minutes.

2. If selected, the student must be an active participant in UD's Small Groups during the 2022-2023 academic year. 

Deadline:

Applications must be received by midnight on April 8, 2022. 

Note: Eligible students who submit this application will also be reviewed for endowment scholarships. Students submitting this application may submit an application for Endowment Scholarships but it is not required to be considered.
