New Hire Benefits

You have been directed to this web page because you are eligible for certain UD benefits.  Please click on the links below under "Contents" to review the benefits material.  To enroll, please print and complete the appropriate enrollment forms located to the right.  Enrollment forms must be submitted to HR within 31 days from your date of hire or 31 days from the date your employment status changes to benefits eligible.

Employment Status & Benefits Eligibility

If your employment status is: You are eligible for these benefits:
Full-time Staff, Regular or Affiliate Faculty Group insurance programs, retirement plan, flexible spending accounts,  tuition waiver for employee and family members, social security, worker's compensation and paid and unpaid leave
Staff Member working 30-39 hours a week Group insurance programs, retirement plan, flexible spending accounts, tuition waiver for employee, worker's compensation and prorated leave programs
Staff Member working 19-29 hours a week Retirement plan, worker's compensation and prorated leave programs
Staff Member working less than 19 hours a week Worker's compensation
Retiree (minimum age 55 with 10 years of service, and AGE + YEARS OF SERVICE = at least 75) Group health insurance program

Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

UD offers two FSAs- medical and dependent care.  The 2015 maximums for these accounts are $2,550 for the medical FSA and $5,000 for the dependent care FSA.

Life, AD&D, Long-Term Disability Plan Summary

UD provides basic Life, AD&D, and Long-Term Disability Insurance to eligible employees working 30 or more hours per week.  Employees are automatically enrolled in this free benefit and must submit a Life, AD&D, and Long-Term Disability enrollment form to HR.  Employees have the option to increase their benefit by purchasing Voluntary Life Insurance and/or purchasing buy-up Long-Term Disability Insurance.  Please review the Life, AD&D, Long-Term Disability Plan Summary above for additional information and cost.  If an employee purchases additional life insurance within the first 31 days of employment and does not exceed the Guarantee Issue, he/she is not required to provide evidence of insurability.  However, if an employee purchases additional life insurance above the Guarantee Issue or after the first 31 days of employment, he/she must provide evidence of insurability to the insurance company for approval.

 403(b) Retirement Accounts

In order to participate in UD's retirement plan, you must enroll online and submit your 403(b) Election/Enrollment Form to HR.  Please review the Online enrollment Guide below for instructions.

The University of Dallas Board of Trustees has announced the appointment of Executive Vice President John G. Plotts, Ed.D., as interim president of the university.
