Dominic Del Curto, B.A. Politics, 2016

Where is he now?
Dominic del Curto, a 2018 graduate from the University of Dallas with a Bachelor of
Arts degree in Politics and a concentration in Business, is currently working as a
Finance Intern with the Modesto Irrigation District in Modesto, California.
How has his UD education set him apart?
Dominic claims that he would not trade his liberal arts degree from UD for anything
in the world, for it has taught him to live well. “If you use the virtues you studied
at UD you will be very successful in any field.” He says he found incredible support
among UD peers, professors, and faculty, and the exemplary community guided him in
his every pursuit. “The liberal arts classes at UD and the discussion, virtues, and
friendships that they spurred are about living, living well and helping other people
to do the same.”
How did his experience at UD prepare him for the future?
From the discipline and camaraderie he found in running track, to studying abroad
in Rome, and to individual classes and professors at UD, Dominic speaks of his gratitude
for the life-changing opportunities to improve himself as “a thinker, writer, speaker,
and man.”
He says that a liberal arts degree from UD has the potential to “make you a top notch
communicator and writer, make you a better problem solver and strategic thinker, and
gives you countless other things that people in the job market look for. I have found
that quick reading, emotional intelligence, strategic thinking, ability to persuade,
ability to grasp new concepts and teach them to others, work ethic, and writing and
speaking skills are all things that have helped me get jobs and internships and do
well at them.”
