Arete Participants Arrive on Irving Campus

On Sunday, July 9 the University of Dallas Rome & Summer Programs Office welcomed participants on the Arete high school summer programs to campus to begin two weeks of intellectual study. Participants enroll in either the Intro to the Classics or the American Studies program and study works from the university's core curriculum.

On their first day on campus students settled in to their rooms and participated in some fun ice-breaker activities to get to know each other. They went on a campus tour and finished off the evening with dinner in the cafe and a viewing and discussion of the film The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence

The Fall Romers left for their last group trip of the semester on Wednesday, November 8. The group traveled to visit Florence, Venice and Assisi. Some of the highlights of the trip include visits to the Doges' Palace and San Marco in Venice and the Uffizi, Accademia and Duomo in Florence.

The Greece Trip is one of the highlights of the Rome Semester as students travel to some of the greatest cities and the richest sites of the ancient world. The Fall 2017 class explored Athens, Dodona, Delphi, Meteora, Mycenae, Nafplion, Olympia and Thermopylae.

The Fall 2017 Rome class made their first class trip of the semester on September 8-10, touring the southern Italian region of Campania, visiting Montecassino, Pompeii, Positano and Paestum.
