For the Forum and Colosseum day, the Fall Class of 2017 toured some of the most famous landmarks of Rome and heard lectures on their architectural characteristics and significance. In the Roman Forum, the winner of the Marc Anthony speech competition performed the famous Shakespearean monologue from Julius Caesar at the very site of his murder by Brutus and Cassius. At the Colosseum, students heard from Dr. Elizabeth Robinson a lecture detailing the cultural aspects of the infamous Roman games. After the lectures, students were free to continue exploring the city or come back to campus via bus.
