Applying for a Summer Program

The first step in applying for a summer program is to submit the online application so that we can properly file your supporting documents when they arrive. Note there is no paper application form. A complete application includes all items listed under Application Materials (see forms below). Complete applications received by January 16, 2019 will be eligible to receive a 5% discount off the program fees. There is no fee to apply. Applications received after the January 16 deadline will be reviewed on a first come, first serve basis until the programs are full. 

You may upload your essay, passport copy and recent photo to your actual online application. If you do not upload your documents you should email them  to udsummer@udallas.edu. Teacher recommendation forms may also be emailed or faxed to our office at udsummer@udallas.edu or (972) 721-5283. Please note that official transcripts are the only document that must be mailed to the University of Dallas Rome & Summer Programs Office, 1845 E Northgate Dr, Irving, TX 75062.

For Study Abroad programs only. (If you do not have a passport please apply for one immediately. We will review your application while you await the arrival of your passport. Please note that your passport must be valid until at least January 2020.)

Scholarship Opportunity for Study Abroad Participants

Students who participate in a UD high school summer program in Rome and later enroll as an undergraduate student at the University of Dallas will be eligible for a $4,000 scholarship ($1,000 per academic year). 

Registration Materials

The following forms must be submitted to register for the course and to make travel arrangements.

Registration Form Custody Affidavit (2) (send one to us and keep one for the student to carry) 
Arete Travel Form  2 Certified copies of Birth Certificate (send one to us and keep one for the student to carry) 
Study Abroad Travel Form 2 Notarized copies of Parent I.D.'s either driver's licenses or passports (send one to us and keep one for student to carry) Sample True Copy Notary Statement

*Study Abroad participants please mail one set of: the notarized custody affidavit, certified birth certificate (or notarized photocopy of birth certificate) and notarized copies of parent driver's licenses or passports to the University of Dallas Rome & Summer Programs Office, 1845 E Northgate Dr, Irving, TX 75062.  Keep the second set to send with the student on the program. 

Assignment and Final Packet Materials

Once registration is complete, you will receive an assignment mailing with your pre-program assignment and reading materials and a final packet containing travel tips, program schedule and rules & expectations to help prepare for the program. 

International Insurance Coverage Options

Study Abroad applicants your trip fee includes coverage with ISIC (International Student Identity Card) Basic health and travel insurance. It is possible to upgrade your coverage with ISIC to Premium or Explorer for a small fee. Please review the brochures below for coverage details.
