Latin, Concentration

The concentration in Latin comprises four courses in Latin, one of which may be replaced by a theoretical course, such as Philosophy of Language.

Converse with the history and present of the West.

Latin is one of five concentrations offered by the Classics Department. Coursework in Latin will start the student on a journey to reading some of the most seminal documents of the West, from the ancient Roman poets to many of the Church Fathers to ecclesial and scholarly documents that are still being written in Latin today.

Students of classics at UD enjoy an enthusiastic, active faculty and the opportunity to experience the classics firsthand through the Rome Program.
