Legatus Scholarship Benefit for Legatus Affiliates
Amount varies.
Legatus is an international membership organization for Catholic CEO’s and their spouses who are committed to study, live and spread the Catholic faith. The University of Dallas and Legatus have partnered to offer members, employees and their immediate families (spouses, children and grandchildren), who are accepted and admitted to the University of Dallas, tuition reductions to assist in pursuing their education either as undergraduate or graduate students in the following manner.
If the admitted student is the Legatus affiliate (member or employee), the affiliate’s spouse, or the affiliate’s child, the tuition reduction will be 30% off of University of Dallas online and campus-based programs.
If the admitted student is the Legatus affiliate’s grandchild, the tuition reduction will be 25% off of University of Dallas online and campus-based programs.
For those admitted students whose merit scholarship offers a greater value than the Legatus Scholarship, the merit scholarship will be applied rather than the Legatus Scholarship. For instance, if the Legatus Scholarship is valued at $15,042 but the merit scholarship is valued at $35,000 then the merit scholarship will be applied in place of the Legatus Scholarship. While in some cases this benefit may be superseded by merit scholarship awards, it may be of benefit during those periods of enrollment in which merit awards are not applied, such as summer enrollment or any term in which merit scholarships have been suspended or ended.
Additional grant and need based aid may be available with submission of a FAFSA® and can be combined with this tuition reduction program, if deemed appropriate by the University of Dallas.
To take advantage of this program, the Legatus affiliate will want to ensure that their chapter leadership presents documentation, a letter or similar confirmation of the affiliate’s membership or employment to the Office of Financial Aid at the University of Dallas each year on or before January 30th. In the first year of enrollment, the student will need to present this confirmation to the Office of Financial Aid at the University of Dallas as early as possible but no later than 30 calendar days prior to the start of the term in which the student initially enrolls.
